Job Overview

In this rewarding and challenging role, you will be responsible for planning, assessing, and instructing 4-year-old children, based on their individual needs and the requirements of the GSRP grant. You will strive to create a safe, comfortable, and engaging learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally-appropriate instruction for children using research-based curriculum


• Maintain accurate student records in accordance with license renewal requirements


• Enroll new students and help advertise the program in and beyond the community


• Collaborate with kindergarten staff to build a connection and smooth transition for students moving out of the program the following fall


• Enter weekly Health Reports and maintain the appropriate staff to student ratio


• Follow all licensing guidelines related to the Great Start Readiness Program, including meeting with families on-site and keeping accurate COR notes


• Exercise discretion and confidentiality in dealing with staff and operations

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• A degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education or a related field


• One of the following: A Child Development Associate credential (CDA), an Associate of Arts in early childhood/preschool education or child development, 120 clock hours of documented formal child care education, or a four-year degree with an endorsement in early childhood education


• Recommendation by an administrator who has supervised your work for at least one year


• CPR and First Aid certification


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and the community


• Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with 4-year-old children in a preschool or kindergarten setting


• Knowledge of research-based curriculum and instructional strategies


• Experience with student assessment and progress monitoring


• Ability to speak multiple languages (desired but not required)
