Remote Epidemiologist for South Carolina Department of Health (EST Time Zone Required) Contract Length: 13–20 weeks (dependent on need) Hours: 30–50 hours/week Schedule: Must be willing to work nights and weekends as needed (overtime available) Pay Rate: $31.74/hr Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Remote Epidemiologist to support public health initiatives through timely disease surveillance, case investigations, and data-driven analysis. This role is fully remote; however, candidates must reside in the Eastern Standard Time zone to meet operational needs and collaborate effectively with the team. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Conduct disease or case investigations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation β€’ Perform surveillance activities, analyze public health data, and support outbreak response β€’ Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify trends, mitigate risks, and support public health decision-making β€’ Prepare clear, concise reports and summaries for internal and external partners β€’ Work flexible hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed Required Qualifications: β€’ Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) or a related field β€’ 1+year of previous Epidemiologist related work β€’ Experience in disease investigation or case investigation (public health, clinical, or government setting preferred) β€’ Residency in the EST time zone β€’ Strong analytical and communication skills β€’ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Contract Details: β€’ 13–20 week contract depending on program needs β€’ 30–50 hours per week with overtime pay provided β€’ Fully remote role If you're passionate about protecting community health and ready to support ongoing public health response efforts, we encourage you to apply!
