We are hiring a specialised ecommerce email designer for ongoing monthly work across two ecommerce brands.

This is not a generic graphic design role.

You must:

  • Specialise in ecommerce email design
  • Understand performance structure (not just aesthetics)
  • Work confidently in Figma
  • Understand Klaviyo
  • Collaborate with a Klaviyo technical expert

If you are a general designer — do not apply.

Important: Collaboration Structure

You will not be building emails inside Klaviyo yourself.

You will be working alongside a dedicated Klaviyo technical expert who handles:

  • Campaign setup
  • Flow implementation
  • Segmentation
  • Automation logic

Your role is to:

  • Design performance-driven emails in Figma
  • Wireframe strategically
  • Communicate clearly with the Klaviyo expert
  • Provide clean, structured assets
  • Ensure designs translate smoothly into Klaviyo

You must be comfortable collaborating via Slack and working within a shared workflow.

Clear communication is mandatory.

What We’re Looking For

1️⃣ High-Level Ecommerce Design Skill (8/10 Minimum)

We want clean, modern, premium ecommerce design.

Think:

  • Strong visual hierarchy
  • Controlled typography
  • Intentional white space
  • Structured, modular layouts
  • Product-focused storytelling
  • Clear, compelling CTAs
  • Seamless section transitions (including smooth gradients that flow naturally between blocks)
  • Backgrounds and colour transitions that feel intentional — not harsh cut-offs
  • Consistent spacing rhythm across the entire email
  • Refined use of depth, contrast, and visual pacing

Your designs should feel:

  • Cohesive from top to bottom
  • Easy to scan
  • Elevated but still conversion-first
  • Designed as a complete experience — not stacked sections

No Canva-style layouts.

No clutter.

No template marketplaces.

We’re looking for someone who understands how to make an email feel premium while still driving clicks.

2️⃣ Email Structure & Wireframing Knowledge

Different emails require different formulas.

You must understand how to structure:

  • Weekly campaigns
  • Product drops
  • Sale campaigns
  • Seasonal launches
  • Flash sales
  • Announcement emails
  • Welcome flows
  • Abandoned cart
  • Post-purchase

You should know how to:

  • Structure above-the-fold impact
  • Control scroll momentum
  • Build tension before CTA
  • Balance brand vs conversion

This is performance design — not just visual design.

3️⃣ Figma Workflow (Mandatory)

You must:

  • Design exclusively in Figma
  • Use clean auto-layout systems
  • Have structured components
  • Maintain consistent spacing systems
  • Use clear campaign naming conventions
  • Share editable Figma files

We want to see:

  • Real ecommerce email Figma files
  • Proper layer naming
  • Organised file systems

4️⃣ Klaviyo Experience (Required)

You must:

  • Understand Klaviyo’s block structure
  • Design with Klaviyo limitations in mind
  • Know how campaigns differ from flows
  • Understand email rendering constraints

You will collaborate directly with our Marketing Manager and Klaviyo technical specialist — so communication and clarity are essential.

Scope of Work

Initial focus:

  • Weekly campaign designs
  • Promotional emails
  • Seasonal sales campaigns

Ongoing:

  • Flow redesigns (welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, etc.)

We operate two ecommerce brands.

We will begin with one.

This is ongoing monthly work.

Communication & Availability

You must:

  • Be available during Sydney business hours (AEDT 9am–5pm)
  • Communicate consistently on Slack
  • Work collaboratively with marketing and Klaviyo tech specialist
  • Deliver assets on schedule

We value clarity, responsiveness, and ownership.

Test Project

  • Shortlisted candidates may receive a paid test task.

We are happy to pay for a test if your portfolio demonstrates strong potential.
