Responsible for providing essential support to the nursing staff and delivering direct patient care to patients in a hospital setting. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients.

Essential Functions

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Provide basic care and comfort, including feeding and repositioning patients.
  • Help with patient intake and discharge procedures, including preparing rooms and providing comfort measures.
  • Collect and document patient information, including intake and output, and assist with specimen collection as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and care plans.
  • Document patient care activities, observations, and changes accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) or paper charts.

Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes Licenses and Credentials Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician [CNA/PCT] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers required Experience Experience as a CNA in a healthcare setting 2-3 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Basic understanding of patient care techniques and medical terminology. - Proficient interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting and moving patients. - Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
