Oracle DBA with HealthCare Domain experience
Role : Senior Oracle DBA (HealthCare Domain)
Location: Remote (preferred locations Reston VA, Washington DC, Mary land area)
- Responsibilities:
- Assess current Oracle landscape (version, size, features, dependencies) and define target on Amazon RDS for Oracle.
- Select and execute the migration approach (e.g., AWS DMS, Data Pump/expdp-impdp, RMAN, or GoldenGate), with clear downtime and rollback strategies.
- Design and document cutover plan and backup/restore/runbook procedures compatible with RDS.
- Implement schema/data migration, validate data integrity, and tune performance post-move (SGA/PGA, SQL tuning, stats, indexing).
- Configure monitoring/alerting (CloudWatch/Performance Insights), and hand off documentation and knowledge transfer. Qualifications:
- Oracle DBA with hands-on migrations to Amazon RDS for Oracle (19c+ preferred).
- Strong with AWS DMS, Golden Gate, Data Pump and/or RMAN for low-downtime moves to AWS.
- Experience with Oracle Multitenant (CDB/PDB) concepts and consolidation patterns.
- Performance troubleshooting (AWR/ASH), space management, and RDS-specific operational patterns (parameter groups, maintenance windows, snapshots/PITR).
- Familiarity with security in GovCloud contexts (KMS, encryption at rest/in transit, IAM integration patterns).
- Familiarity with Terraform/CloudFormation for repeatable DB infrastructure setup.
