Job Summary:
The Sr. Analyst, Capital Project Investment / Manager, Capital Project Investment will own and maintain Greenlane's long-term investment and portfolio financial models. This role is responsible for underwriting new electric vehicle charging station investments both as stand-alone projects and part of the overall portfolio; for evaluating capital allocation decisions; and for optimizing portfolio-level returns across the asset lifecycle. The position focuses on investment modeling and strategic decision support, distinct from operating budgeting and project-level budget tracking, while ensuring alignment. This role will interface with all functions of the organization to actively support the speed of decision making as well as the creation and presentation of investment memos for Finance Advisory Committee and the Board.
As a growth-stage company, Greenlane operates in a dynamic environment where assumptions evolve quickly. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with imperfect information, building structure where needed, and iterating on models as the business scales. This role will also contribute to research and strategic thinking around key investment model inputs, such as pricing, utilization, and incentives.
- Job Details:
- Lead underwriting and financial evaluation of new EV charging site opportunities for Greenlane as discrete investments and contributing to the corridor and portfolio.
- Build, maintain, and enhance long-term, asset-level and portfolio-level investment models (IRR, MOIC, NPV).
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis across utilization, incentives, capital structure, and capital costs.
- Evaluate capital allocation decisions across corridors and portfolio segments.
- Support investment memo development and present findings to Finance Advisory Committee and Board.
- Understanding and effective communication of financial drivers for capital projects, with debt structures, IRA tax incentives, grant and market incentives, and varying capital stack assumptions.
- Able to understand financial impacts and respectfully challenge assumptions for all financial model inputs to value optimize projects, corridors and the portfolio.
- Coordinate and ensure timely completion of investment memos for each capital project. Expected to participate in the presentation and any revisions to the Finance Advisory Committee as well as the Board (as needed).
- Enhance analytical tools and scenario frameworks that allow leadership to test assumptions and evaluate portfolio performance. Requirements
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science or equivalent. MBA highly encouraged.
- 5-8+ years of creating and maintaining financial models for capital project development and analysis; strong understanding of investment return mechanics (IRR, MOIC, NPV) and capital structure impacts on equity returns.
- Mastery of Excel - SQL, Macros, advanced formulas and functions for complete financial analysis. Experience with Python a plus but not required
- Experience in EV transportation, renewable energy, or electricity markets (regulated and deregulated) highly preferred.
- Experience working in high-growth or entrepreneurial environments preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly experience communicating financial modeling takeaways to non-finance audiences
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Location/Travel:
