We are a digital marketing agency looking for a contract specialist to support a defined portion of a client keyword strategy project focused on AI search visibility, generative search behavior, and answer engine optimization (AEO / GEO).

This is not a traditional SEO-only role. We need someone who understands how brands surface inside AI-generated answers across platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews, and can analyze that landscape in a practical, structured way.

Project Scope:

You will support the AI search portion of a broader keyword and discoverability strategy project.

Responsibilities include:

Analyze how target keywords and topics are handled across:

  • ChatGPT
  • Perplexity
  • Google AI Overviews

Identify which queries are:

  • AI-dominated
  • traditional SERP-driven
  • hybrid

Document:

  • which sources and domains are cited in AI-generated responses
  • what content formats are consistently referenced (definitions, lists, comparisons, stats-backed content, etc.)
  • Evaluate current visibility of our client versus competitors within AI-generated responses
  • Identify gaps and opportunities related to:
  • AI citation visibility
  • content structure
  • topical authority
  • Provide clear, organized notes that can be incorporated into a larger keyword strategy deliverable

Deliverables:

  • Annotated keyword list with AI visibility tags (AI-dominant, hybrid, traditional)
  • Summary of citation patterns across AI platforms
  • Competitive visibility snapshot (who appears vs who does not)

Recommendations on:

  • content formats most likely to perform in AI search
  • how to improve likelihood of being cited in AI-generated answers
  • Input into a short strategic summary (we will finalize)

Requirements:

Proven hands-on experience with:

  • ChatGPT
  • Perplexity
  • Google AI Overviews
  • AI search / GEO / AEO work

Strong understanding of:

  • search intent
  • how LLMs synthesize and reference information
  • differences between traditional SEO and AI-driven discovery
  • Ability to identify patterns and extract insights (not just run prompts)
  • Strong written communication and structured documentation skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Ahrefs or SEMrush
  • Familiarity with AI visibility tools (Profound, Otterly, Scrunch, etc.)
  • Background in SEO, content strategy, or B2B marketing

Project Details:

  • Contract / freelance
  • Estimated workload: 8 to 15 hours
  • Turnaround: 3 to 5 days

Remote:

  • Potential for ongoing work if there is a strong fit
