Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration. They are seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineer I to provide engineering expertise and hands-on support for various projects, focusing on the design and analysis of mechanical assemblies and components.


Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the design of mechanical assemblies and components using SolidWorks
  • Assists in performing design and technical analysis activities using prescribed codes, standards, and computer software
  • Contributes to designs, strategies, reports, and technical proposals
  • Supports field programs and designs using pre-determined principles and practices
  • Provides hands-on field support, including the use of basic hand tools for mechanical builds and assembly
  • Works independently on assigned tasks within an established framework, following detailed technical specifications
  • Assists in defining specifications for procurements, initiates purchase requests
  • Supports the engagement with customers, other organizations, and collaborates with National Weapons laboratories
  • Coordinates discipline information with other departments and outside vendors to obtain relevant information
  • Serves as a member of work teams to contribute to solutions for assignment-related problems
  • Perform other duties assigned by Management

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) required for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical engineering degrees
  • Knowledge of, and skill in applying, fundamental engineering principles, concepts, and practices
  • Knowledge of computer-aided design software (specifically SolidWorks) contributes to the design of mechanical assemblies and components
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and their application in mechanical builds and assembly is required
  • Skill in applying established technical specifications, codes, and standards to perform design analysis and support field programs
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance
  • Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age
