Job description: COMPENSATION: Per Teacher Salary Schedule based on education and experience. District 308 grants experience credit on the salary schedule for up to 10 years of prior, verifiable, contractual full-time teaching experience.

Qualifications:



PEL with middle school and ESL or Bilingual endorsements



Strong organizational skills



Strong communication skills, oral and written



Experience and knowledge of Dual Language and English Learner programming and instruction



Knowledge of junior high school scheduling



Responsibilities:



Teach a part-time load of classes serving English Learner (EL) students



Identify the needs of staff related to EL instruction and provide coaching and PD



Coach general education teachers, EL teachers, and Dual Language (DL) teachers in best practices for language learners (including planning, modeling, helping to create accommodations, etc.)



Support teachers with educational tech programs used for EL/DL students



Compile, analyze, and report data (including ACCESS, FastBridge, IAR, classroom, etc.)



Support MTSS and grade-level teams with planning for interventions for EL/DL students



Assist counselors in scheduling and placement of EL/DL students in appropriate courses



Act as a liaison between the school and EL parents



Maintain accurate lists of EL students, students in denial status, and students in monitor status



Assure that EL students? EL folders and records remain up-to-date



Facilitate vertical articulation and transitioning students (5th gr. to Jr. High and 8th gr. to high school)



Oversee EL accommodation options, schedules and related meetings for standardized assessments



Administer W-APT/ACCESS and support ACCESS testing scheduling, technology, training, make-ups, etc.)



Collaborate with the special education department to assure that all dually identified students are properly supported



Assure that all dually identified students have EL representation at IEP meetings



Remain up-to-date in curricular implementation, best practices and compliance as they relate to ELs



Help develop curriculum and manage curricular resources for EL and DL classrooms



Participate in district curriculum committees



Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring efficient and effective teaching and learning
