Remote Telecom Network Engineer

Our client, a rapidly expanding telecommunications innovator, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Telecom Network Engineer to contribute to their cutting-edge network infrastructure. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US. You will be instrumental in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our complex, high-availability telecommunications networks. This includes working with various hardware and software platforms, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system administrators, and other network specialists, to troubleshoot issues, deploy new services, and enhance existing infrastructure. Responsibilities include developing network architecture diagrams, defining configuration standards, and participating in capacity planning. You will also be involved in vendor management, evaluating new technologies, and making recommendations for network upgrades. A deep understanding of IP networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, firewalls, and VPN technologies is essential. Experience with cloud networking environments and specific telecom technologies such as VoIP, MPLS, and LTE/5G is highly desirable. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our client's network, which supports millions of users. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain robust and scalable telecommunications networks. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues remotely. Develop and document network configurations, standards, and procedures. Monitor network performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions. Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate new technologies and services. Ensure network security and compliance with industry best practices. Participate in capacity planning and network evolution strategies. Evaluate and recommend new networking hardware and software solutions. Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams. Manage relationships with network equipment vendors. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience in telecommunications network engineering. In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and switching technologies. Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security principles. Familiarity with VoIP, MPLS, and wireless technologies (LTE/5G). Experience with cloud networking platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in a remote setting. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP) are highly desirable.
