Investment Analyst – Trading & Research
A private alternative investment partnership focused on high-conviction, research-driven strategies across equities, derivatives, macro, and alternative data, is looking for an Investment Analyst, with direct exposure to live portfolio decisions from their first week.
The Role
This is an open seat suitable for a strong recent top graduate, an early-career professional looking to step into a more rigorous environment, or a career switcher with a genuine analytical foundation and the drive to compete.
- Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Equity and options research, including sector and thematic coverage
- Financial modeling, scenario analysis, and valuation work
- Alternative data sourcing and interpretation
- Trade idea development and investment committee presentation
- Risk monitoring, portfolio analytics, and hedging support
- Macro and market surveillance
What We Look For
Academic background in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, and other quantitative fields preferred. However, if you have a strong interest in the markets despite coming from a different background you're also encouraged to apply. If you can build a structured argument, interrogate assumptions, and change your view when the data demands it, your degree field is secondary.
- What we do assess directly:
- Can you build and defend a financial model or investment thesis under pressure?
- Do you read markets, earnings, or macro data out of genuine curiosity, not just for interviews?
- Can you separate signal from noise in ambiguous, fast-moving situations?
- Are you comfortable being wrong, learning from it, and moving on quickly?
Prior experience or internships in investment research, trading, financial analysis, or data-intensive roles is greatly preferred. Relevant credentials, including CFA Level 1+, the Certified Futures and Options Analyst (CFOA), CAIA, or equivalent, are viewed favorably as indicators of self-directed commitment to the craft.
- Compensation & Structure
- Base salary: $96,000 – $152,000, depending on background and experience
- Performance bonus: structured to be highly competitive for strong contributors
- Hybrid and remote arrangements available for the right candidate*
- Direct mentorship from senior portfolio managers
- Advancement is merit-based and moves quickly for top performers
