Role Description
Position: Registered Nurse – Pre Procedure Services
Location: 4901 Searle Pkwy Skokie IL
Part Time, 20 hours per week
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8a-4:30p, No calls or weekends
May be eligible for remote work once requirements are met
- Qualifications
- Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
- Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
- BLS/CPR Certification for the Healthcare Provider required
- Minimum of 5 years experience in peri anesthesia (PAT, Pre-op, PACU/Phase 2)
- Strong background in Pre-admission testing strongly preferred
- Proficiency in EPIC Application

- Conducts patient interviews via telephone prior to scheduled surgeries
- Provides patient education via telephone related to upcoming surgery
- Informs patient of pre-anesthetic evaluation process
- Collaborates closely with the Anesthesia provider team
- Ensures required pre-surgical testing is completed prior to patient surgical appointment
- Integrates research findings into nursing practice
- Works cohesively with related nursing areas prior to surgical procedure
- Maintains knowledge of nursing procedures specific to different service lines
- Maintains knowledge and competency reflective of current standards of nursing practice
- Promotes hospital quality improvement goals
- Independently provides safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population on a specific unit
- Utilizes the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care
- Guides and directs assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care
- Communicates and collaborates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care
- Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promotes high quality patient experience
