Role Description

Position: Registered Nurse – Pre Procedure Services

Location: 4901 Searle Pkwy Skokie IL

Part Time, 20 hours per week

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8a-4:30p, No calls or weekends

May be eligible for remote work once requirements are met

Qualifications
• Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
• Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
• BLS/CPR Certification for the Healthcare Provider required
• Minimum of 5 years experience in peri anesthesia (PAT, Pre-op, PACU/Phase 2)
• Strong background in Pre-admission testing strongly preferred
• Proficiency in EPIC Application

• Conducts patient interviews via telephone prior to scheduled surgeries
• Provides patient education via telephone related to upcoming surgery
• Informs patient of pre-anesthetic evaluation process
• Collaborates closely with the Anesthesia provider team
• Ensures required pre-surgical testing is completed prior to patient surgical appointment
• Integrates research findings into nursing practice
• Works cohesively with related nursing areas prior to surgical procedure
• Maintains knowledge of nursing procedures specific to different service lines
• Maintains knowledge and competency reflective of current standards of nursing practice
• Promotes hospital quality improvement goals
• Independently provides safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population on a specific unit
• Utilizes the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care
• Guides and directs assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care
• Communicates and collaborates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care
• Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promotes high quality patient experience
