Remote Senior IT Systems Administrator

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Systems Administrator to join their completely remote IT department. This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the stability, security, and performance of our client's complex IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities:
Administer, monitor, and maintain server infrastructure (Windows Server, Linux) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure). Implement and manage virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V). Oversee network services including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewalls. Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect company data and systems from threats. Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure optimal security and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems, procedures, and configurations. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff. Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve IT operations and business efficiency. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT systems administration, with a strong emphasis on server and network management. Extensive knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems. Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Proficiency in network protocols, services, and security best practices. Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V). Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and threat mitigation. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment. Relevant certifications such as MCSE, RHCSA, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator are a plus.
