Pediatric Respiratory Therapist - Virtual - PRN
ModRN Health is part of a large team building a rapid response capability to support COVID-19 host spots for the US and its territories. The interdisciplinary clinical team will be virtually supporting hospitals, clinics, and home patients. Team members will use video conferencing and advancing tools and processes to provide expertise and relief for front line clinical workers.
We are looking for solutions- focused thinking Pediatric RTs that can thrive in an innovative environment, provide education, consultation to clinician and team members. The Virtual Respiratory Therapy position is a licensed therapist, who as an advanced clinician, functions at a proficient level to provide extraordinary care for patients. This position provides patient care through advice and consultation with other clinical team members as well as patients. The RT is considered an expert in their specialty and always portrays a professional approach and demeanor. The Virtual Pediatric RT is someone with exceptional communication skills that has worked alongside a variety of clinicians. This person must be able to have the ability to adapt to a variety of circumstances.
- Job Duties:
- Complete virtual rounds on patients with a multidisciplinary team; interpret most recent patient data and health record.
- Identify and interpret trends and acute changes in patient conditions and collaborate with virtual care team to respond accordingly.
- Anticipate changes in patient condition based on current data and trends
- Collaborate closely with physicians and other members of multidisciplinary team
- Assists in maintenance of medical records
- Assists in mentoring and coaching other clinicians in areas of clinical and professional practice
- Respond to requests from “on the ground” care team
- Diagnosing lung and breathing disorders and recommending treatment methods
- Consulting with physicians to recommend a change in therapy, based on an evaluation of the patient
- Managing ventilators and artificial airway devices for patients who can't breathe normally on their own
- Job Requirements:
- 3 year inpatient RT experience
- Associates or Bachelors Degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program
- Current state license in good standing with the State License Board
- BLS
- NRP certification
- PALS
- Preferred:
- 5 year+ inpatient RT experience
- Ventilator Proficient (experience with titrating and following ARDS/Net protocol)
- ACLS
- Teaching hospital experience
