About the position

The Payments, Cards, Lending & FinTech Segment Leader serves as the primary relationship and business owner for a portfolio of NTT DATA Banking and Financial Services clients across a designated regional territory. This executive leadership role drives customer satisfaction, revenue expansion, and account profitability while shaping the future growth of the segment. With deep domain expertise across Payments & Cards, Consumer and Commercial Lending, and the FinTech ecosystem, the Segment Leader oversees complex, multi-service client engagements with a strong emphasis on P&L ownership, strategic growth, service excellence, and long-term client success. The role partners closely with Client Executives and cross-functional NTT DATA teams—including Consulting, Digital, Applications, Cloud, Data, BPO, Infrastructure, and Security—to deliver differentiated outcomes and position NTT DATA as a trusted transformation partner. Success is measured by segment growth, profitability, client satisfaction, and strategic account penetration.

    Responsibilities
  • Lead a portfolio of Payments, Cards, Lending, and FinTech clients, defining and executing segment-level growth strategies.
  • Own P&L performance, margin optimization, and long-term commercial success for the segment.
  • Anticipate market shifts across embedded finance, real-time payments, digital lending, and FinTech partnerships.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for strategic clients, fostering trusted C-suite relationships.
  • Align client engagement strategies with business priorities across issuance, acquiring, credit products, lending platforms, and FinTech innovation.
  • Drive outcome-based conversations focused on transformation, not just service delivery.
  • Build and execute integrated go-to-market strategies for Payments, Cards, Lending, and FinTech solutions.
  • Partner across a highly matrixed organization to identify cross-sell and whitespace opportunities.
  • Shape propositions around digital payments, credit modernization, lending transformation, and FinTech enablement.
  • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing segment team of Client Executives.
  • Coach leaders on strategic account planning, executive presence, and complex deal structuring.
  • Establish a culture of accountability for growth, profitability, and delivery excellence.
  • Collaborate with NTT DATA Lines-of-Business to expand and differentiate offerings across: Digital Payments & Cards Platforms, Lending & Credit Modernization, FinTech Integration & Embedded Finance, Cloud, Data, AI, and Security, BPO and Managed Services.
  • Position NTT DATA as a strategic partner of choice for banks, lenders, and FinTechs.
  • Provide senior oversight for delivery quality and client satisfaction.
  • Act as the executive escalation point for complex programs and critical client issues.
  • Ensure commitments are met while strengthening long-term relationships.
    Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience in IT Services, Advisory, or Consulting within Banking, Lending, Payments, and FinTech.
  • 12+ years leading client engagement or account teams with P&L responsibility, revenue growth, and delivery accountability.
  • 10+ years of deep domain expertise across: Payments & Cards (issuing, acquiring, processing), Consumer and Commercial Lending, Credit Platforms and Digital Lending.
  • Strong understanding of the FinTech landscape, including embedded finance, partnerships, APIs, and digital-native platforms.
  • Proven ability to operate at the C-suite level and lead complex, matrixed global teams.
