Compensation: $1,000/week + performance-based bonuses (Total potential annually: $65,000–$85,000+)

Overview

We are a growing accounting firm supporting small businesses and healthcare clients, with a strong focus on audit preparation and compliance work, including IDOA and GATA audits.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant who is comfortable working with financial data, preparing audit-ready documentation, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.

    This role offers a balance of independence and support. You will work alongside experienced leadership, including:
  • A senior accounting and tax professional overseeing operations
  • A 40+ year CPA and firm owner
    Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain client financials in QuickBooks
  • Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Lead audit preparation efforts, including IDOA and GATA compliance
  • Organize and maintain audit-ready documentation and support schedules
  • Ensure financial records align with audit and compliance requirements
  • Communicate with clients to gather required documentation and information
  • Utilize tools such as Financial Cents (workflow management) and DataSnipper (audit support)
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure audit readiness and accuracy across all engagements
    Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (reconciliations and financial review required)
  • Experience supporting audits or preparing audit-ready financials and documentation
  • Familiarity with government or compliance-based audits (IDOA, GATA, or similar) strongly preferred
  • Experience reviewing and finalizing financial statements
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Comfortable communicating with clients
    Preferred:
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Experience in a CPA firm or multi-client accounting environment
  • Experience with grant accounting, nonprofit accounting, or compliance reporting
    Work Environment & Expectations:
  • Hybrid schedule: 2–3 days in office, based on consistency and performance
