Special Education Teacher in Arlington Heights, IL

- Key Qualifications:
- Current teaching certification in Special Education, with additional ESL endorsement or licensure highly preferred
- Proven classroom experience working with students with diverse learning needs and language backgrounds
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication skills to engage with students, families, and fellow staff
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Passion and creativity for adapting lessons to reach all learners
- Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction tailored to special education students, integrating ESL strategies as appropriate
- Develop, review, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Differentiate curriculum and lessons to address varying abilities and language acquisition stages
- Progress monitor students and document outcomes to ensure compliance with educational standards
- Consult regularly with general education teachers and related service providers to support inclusion and student achievement
- Encourage families’ involvement in their children’s learning and provide valuable updates on progress
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that respects each child’s abilities and backgrounds
