Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Medical Billing & AR Virtual
Assistant to support billing operations for a comprehensive ophthalmology practice. The ideal
candidate will have hands-on experience managing insurance claims, denials, and Accounts
Receivable (AR), with proficiency in Athena EMR/EHR.
- Key Responsibilities
- Handle insurance claims, denials, and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
- Follow up on unpaid, rejected, or denied claims with insurance providers
- Work within Athena EMR/EHR to manage billing activities and patient records
- Maintain accurate billing documentation and ensure records are up to date
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursement issues
- Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience handling insurance claims, denials, and AR within a comprehensive ophthalmology practice
- Hands-on experience using Athena EMR/EHR
- Strong understanding of medical billing processes and insurance follow-up
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
