Key Responsibilities:
Lead the structural design and analysis of various construction projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations in accordance with building codes and industry standards. Perform complex structural analysis using state-of-the-art software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro). Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient design solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff. Conduct structural reviews and quality control checks to ensure design accuracy and compliance. Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and stakeholders. Stay abreast of new materials, technologies, and building codes impacting structural engineering. Manage project timelines and deliverables for structural engineering components. Assist in the development and implementation of engineering standards and best practices within the organization. Resolve complex structural issues that arise during design and construction phases.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field, along with a Professional Engineer (PE) license. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with a significant portion focused on leading design teams and projects, is required. Proven expertise in structural analysis software and a comprehensive understanding of material behavior (steel, concrete, timber) are essential. Strong knowledge of seismic design principles and applicable building codes (e.g., IBC, ASCE) is mandatory. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are critical for this remote leadership position. You will be instrumental in shaping the structural integrity of significant building projects from your home office, supporting the Minneapolis, Minnesota, US operations.
