Strategic Partnerships Intern | Prox (Unpaid)
Remote | Summer 2026 | Unpaid Internship
About Prox
Prox is a grocery savings startup helping shoppers save money by making smarter grocery decisions. We’re building tools that make it easier for consumers to compare prices, discover deals, track grocery savings, and better understand where their money is going at the store.
Our goal is to make grocery shopping more transparent, useful, and rewarding for everyday shoppers. As we continue growing, partnerships will be a major part of how we reach consumers, work with brands, and build relationships across the grocery ecosystem.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Strategic Partnerships Intern to help Prox identify, analyze, and pursue potential partnerships across influencers, CPG brands, retailers, shopping platforms, savings apps, community organizations, and other consumer-focused businesses.
This is an unpaid internship designed for students or early-career professionals who are excited about market research, business development, partnership strategy, and startup growth. You’ll work directly with the founder to research potential partners, build outreach pipelines, help craft partnership messaging, and support conversations around how Prox can create mutually beneficial relationships.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys thinking about markets, understanding what different companies care about, and figuring out how two businesses can work together in a way that benefits both sides.
- What You’ll Do
- Identify and research potential partnership opportunities across influencers, CPG brands, grocery retailers, savings platforms, food creators, community organizations, and related consumer businesses.
- Analyze potential partners to understand their audience, business model, incentives, and strategic fit with Prox.
- Build and maintain partnership pipelines, including target lists, outreach status, contact information, notes, and next steps.
- Draft outreach messages to potential influencer partners, CPG brands, retailers, and other organizations.
- Help explain what Prox is, who we serve, and why a partnership could be valuable.
- Assist in developing marketing materials, partnership one-pagers, pitch decks, email templates, and partner-facing summaries.
- Support conversations around potential partnership structures, including affiliate partnerships, content collaborations, sponsored campaigns, referral partnerships, brand promotions, and retailer relationships.
- Track outreach performance and help identify which types of partners are most responsive.
- Research competitors, similar apps, loyalty programs, savings platforms, creator partnerships, and brand marketing strategies.
- Help prepare notes before partner calls and summarize key takeaways afterward.
- Work directly with the founder on partnership strategy, business development priorities, and startup growth.
- Who You Are
- You’re excited by the idea of building partnerships that are actually useful for both sides.
- You enjoy researching markets, companies, creators, brands, and consumer trends.
- You’re curious about grocery, CPG, retail, consumer startups, savings apps, loyalty programs, influencer marketing, or brand partnerships.
- You’re comfortable writing outreach messages and explaining ideas clearly.
- You’re organized enough to manage lists, track follow-ups, and keep a pipeline updated.
- You’re proactive and willing to suggest new partner categories, outreach angles, or partnership ideas.
- You like thinking strategically about why a company, creator, or brand would want to work with Prox.
- You’re comfortable working remotely and communicating clearly with a small startup team.
- Qualifications
- Interest in startups, partnerships, business development, brand strategy, influencer marketing, retail, grocery, or consumer technology.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to conduct thoughtful market research and summarize findings clearly.
- Comfort using tools like Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, Canva, LinkedIn, email, or similar platforms.
- Ability to commit consistently throughout the internship.
- This Role Is Perfect For You If
- You want real startup experience, not busy work.
- You’re interested in business development, strategic partnerships, brand partnerships, influencer marketing, venture building, or startup growth.
- You want to learn how early-stage companies identify potential partners, pitch opportunities, and build relationships.
- You enjoy figuring out what different businesses care about and how to create win-win opportunities.
- You want to build a portfolio of real partnership research, outreach materials, pitch decks, and growth strategy work.
- You’re excited by the challenge of helping a consumer startup grow from the ground up.
- What You’ll Get
- Hands-on experience helping build the partnership function of an early-stage consumer startup.
- Direct mentorship from the founder.
- Experience with market research, business development, partner outreach, influencer partnerships, CPG partnerships, and retail strategy.
- Real exposure to how startup partnership pipelines are built and managed.
- Portfolio examples including target lists, outreach campaigns, pitch materials, competitive research, and partnership strategy work.
- The opportunity to take ownership of meaningful growth projects.
- Academic credit support, where applicable through your university.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
