Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (LSS)
Full‑Time - Remote | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM with occasional evening hours for presentations/meetings with community partners
Make The Ride Happen assists older adults and individuals with disabilities so they can remain active and involved in their community. Make The Ride Happen coordinates with other local transportation services to find rides for residents that meet their needs.
The Mobility Coordinator provides education and support to help individuals understand, access, and coordinate transportation options within the community. Works to improve mobility for individuals by removing barriers and advocating for system change.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Works with community partners and Mobility Manager to address transportation barriers and create new transportation options
Responds to requests from individuals and agencies regarding transportation
Advocates on behalf of individuals as necessary
Interacts with transportation providers to understand existing transportation resources including geographic boundaries, eligibility, fares, service hours, days available and other pertinent information
Makes appropriate referrals to social service agencies, information and assistance providers and community resources
Educates and promotes existing community resources
Maintains database with individual demographic data and program information
Attends local advocacy meetings with providers, consumers and County Human Services Agencies
Maintains caller records, statistical reports and other projects related to transportation coordination as directed by the Program Supervisor
Uses alternative technologies/techniques, as well as interpreters, to communicate with people with varying abilities (TDD, Braille, etc.)
Documents areas of unmet transportation needs and advocates when possible for added services
Expects, supports, promotes and manages change
Provides input using a problem-solving approach to issues

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Work experience with older adults and individuals with disabilities is preferred
Knowledge and/or work experience with transportation resources is strongly preferred.
LICENSES & REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) meeting LSS Driver Safety standards.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Must reside in Wisconsin or Upper Michigan.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; LSS is unable to provide visa sponsorship.
