Job Summary

The primary purpose of the Business Information Analyst - Default is to provide technical, functional, and operational support for the Default department. This position is responsible for analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations based on department data. Use multiple data sources, analyze trends, reconcile data, and identify areas of improvement. Evaluate information and analytics to make recommendations for and deploy business process improvements. Responsible for loan-level reporting to outside companies, partners, and government agencies; including FHA, VA, USDA, and Freddie Mac.

In addition, analyze reporting and make recommendations to management regarding potential improvements based on knowledge of reporting and operational processes. Also, implement efficiency improvements or automation for investor and government reports

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manages and maintains monthly/quarterly loan level reporting for MI company default reporting, MILAR reporting, FHA Single Family Default Monitoring System (SFDMS), VA Loan Electronic Reporting Interface (VALERI) reporting, USDA Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Fannie Mae (AMN) and Freddie Mac (EDR).

Sets-up reporting requirements within MSP servicing system. Review exception items and submit changes and/or corrections. Completes end of month default reporting file submissions to each reporting agencies (i.e., MI companies, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, HUD (FHA), RH (USDA) and VA (Valeria).

Collaborates with management and subject matter experts to define reporting metrics for exceptions.

Works with departmental managers in implementing and updating policy and procedures for Collections, Mitigation, and Foreclosure Departments.

Assists the Director of Default Operations and Default Reporting in compiling data and documentation required for internal, state, agency and investor audits and exams. Updates Default Management on state and investor compliance requirements and collaborates with Supervisor/Managers on implementing processes.

Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Education

College degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

Minimum three (3) years of experience in business intelligence, reports development, data analysis, mortgage loss mitigation, or default preferred.

Previous experience analyzing data required

Minimum three (3) years of experience within the mortgage industry preferred

Functional/Technical Skills

Knowledge of the MSP servicing system is a plus.

Construct reporting utilizing Excel, pivot tables, Business Intelligence, and MSP Passport to drive insight for default and operational leadership.

Perform ongoing assessment of analytics tools and dashboards relative to their usability, efficacy, and adoption with their respective audiences.

Synthesize data to provide executives with actionable insights as input to product performance and delinquency strategy.

Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, good communication skills

Proficient with Microsoft products including Excel

Excellent computer skills and ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Create exception reports to ensure accurate default reporting

Make recommendations for operational and process improvements based on analysis of the data and reports developed/generated

Perform data analysis to ensure accuracy before delivery to internal customers
