Job Summary

The Manager of Pro Equipment and Gear Operations will work closely with the Head of Volleyball Operations and the team Directors of Volleyball Operations in performing a variety of tasks to support each individual LOVB team. This position will provide dedicated day-to-day support from an equipment and gear perspective, ensuring teams are properly outfitted and operationally supported across the season.

This role is responsible for leading the planning, procurement, inventory management, distribution, and tracking of team gear and equipment across all teams. The Manager will help establish consistent systems, vendor relationships, and operating procedures to support player and staff needs, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with relevant safety and equipment protocols.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Equipment & Inventory Management

Assist the Head of Pro Volleyball Operations in budgeting, ordering, and inventory management of team training equipment and facility-related equipment needs across all teams.

Lead all aspects of team gear and equipment operations across all teams, including size collection, procurement, inventory entry and management, order tracking, and status updates.

Implement and manage an equipment tracking system to record all items issued and returned across all teams.

Assist Directors of Volleyball Operations with surplus inventory management and packing strategies for home and away competitions.

Gear Distribution & Player/Staff Support

Lead the documentation of all player and staff size requests and prepare for the distribution of uniforms, footwear, additional attire, and partner activation items for players and staff.

Serve as the primary point of coordination for team gear readiness and fulfillment throughout the season.

Gather and synthesize feedback from staff and players, in partnership with Directors of Volleyball Operations, regarding fit, material, performance, and future ordering needs.

Vendor Management & Operational Support

Develop processes and secure local vendors in each city for screen printing needs.

Secure and manage local vendors for team laundry needs in each city.

Support sponsor activations and gifting across tentpole events and at practice facilities throughout the season.

Policy, Procedure & Compliance

Establish policies and procedures related to OSHA compliance across all teams, with a focus on laundry protocols and gear/equipment biohazard procedures.

Help standardize equipment and gear practices across teams to improve consistency, safety, and operational effectiveness.

Required Skills & Abilities

Strong organizational and operational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across teams and locations.

Experience with budgeting, ordering, inventory management, and distribution processes.

Ability to build and manage vendor relationships across multiple markets.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and tracking systems.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with league and team operations staff.

Ability to identify process improvements and implement scalable operational systems.

Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with evolving priorities.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant professional sports team/league or collegiate experience.|

Experience in equipment operations, team operations, athletic operations, or a related field preferred.

Experience supporting multiple teams, locations, or departments is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with equipment inventory systems preferred, including Teamworks equipment inventory tools or similar platforms.

Working knowledge of Teamworks is preferred, including experience communicating with players and staff, building forms, downloading data, and updating profiles beyond equipment inventory functions.

Certification from the Athletic Equipment Managers Association preferred.

OSHA familiarity preferred.
