UWMC's KIDNEY, LIVER, LUNG, TRANSPLANTATION & LIVING DONOR SERVICES DEPARTMENT has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time STUDENT ASSISTANT - 10 to 19.5 hours per week during school year; Up to full time during summer quarter). This individual will perform general office functions; enter data into the records management software; update various logs, spreadsheets, and databases to track office activity/client interactions; assist with the creation and update of record series and the UW Medicine Records Retention Schedule; perform special projects and other tasks as assigned

NOTE: Must be a student currently enrolled at the University of Washington

This position works most closely the business and transplant financial operations within Transplant.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Data entry into various forms for the business and financial teams within Transplant from the Electronic Medical Records, aka Epic

Preparing clinical information for regulatory forms and audits

Reviewing invoices for various labs and Bloodworks Northwest

Submitting information to regulatory agencies,

Requesting copies of forms from Organ Procurement Organizations, Tax agencies, and other facilities

Reviewing and preparing charts for transplant financial counselor appointments

Requirements
Current student at University of Washington

To be employed as a student, the student must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements (not including correspondence credits):

Undergraduate students - 6 credits

Graduate and professional students - 4 credits

Ph.D. candidates working on dissertations - 2 credits

Be approved for “On Leave” status

Student employees are limited to working 19.5 hours per week when classes are in session. Student employees may work more than 19.5 hours per week during school breaks or when "on leave." A student can work as a student assistant for one quarter while on leave.
Students may be considered "on leave" as follows:
Undergraduates - For one quarter immediately following a quarter in which the student was enrolled for at least 6 academic credits (this includes summer quarter).

Graduate Students - When the student has applied for and been granted such status by the Dean of the Graduate School. Summer Quarter “On Leave” status is automatic for all graduate students who were registered or officially on leave the prior Spring Quarter.

Professional Students - When the student has applied for and been granted such status by the dean of the respective professional school.
