National Sales Key Account Manager
Role Summary
National Account Sales Manager – Retail
Location: Remote or Hybrid – Preference for candidates located near Gastonia, NC headquarters or key retail customer locations
Travel: Approximately 25–50% domestic travel
MANN+HUMMEL is seeking a strategic and customer-focused National Account Sales Manager – Retail to lead and grow relationships with key retail customers across the automotive aftermarket channel. This role will drive profitable sales growth, strengthen customer partnerships, and execute commercial strategies that support both customer success and company objectives.
Main Tasks
Manage and grow assigned national retail accounts while identifying new business opportunities within existing and targeted customers
Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned accounts and maintain strong long-term customer relationships
Lead customer business reviews, line reviews, and category discussions to support growth initiatives and product lifecycle management
Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing strategies, promotional activities, and customer programs
Partner cross-functionally with marketing, product management, supply chain, and finance teams to execute customer strategies and achieve business goals
Support product launches, promotional campaigns, merchandising initiatives, shelf pricing, and planogram/modular set activities
Analyze customer performance, category trends, syndicated data, and profitability metrics to identify opportunities and risks
Develop and implement strategic sales plans focused on revenue growth, profitability improvement, and market expansion
Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and business insights to leadership and customer stakeholders
Utilize CRM systems and customer portals to effectively manage account activity, reporting, and project execution
Ensure strong communication and alignment between customers and internal support teams
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred
Experience
5+ years of sales or account management experience within the automotive aftermarket or retail industry
Experience managing national retail accounts and customer relationships
Experience supporting category management, promotional planning, or merchandising initiatives preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong relationship-building and customer management skills
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities
Ability to analyze sales trends, profitability, and market data to drive business decisions
Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce
Strong organizational and project management skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Creative problem-solving mindset with strong business acumen
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
