OFFICE OF INSPECTOR GENERAL (OIG) - CAREER BROCHURE
To coordinate investigation activities among two or more lower-level regulation agents. Provides on-the-job training for lower-level regulation agents and journeyman level regulation agents in need of additional training pertinent to the job function. Identifies and determines if clients, non-Medicaid providers or business entities fraudulently received entitlement program funds administered by Michigan Department of Health and Human Services; ascertain the nature of offense committed; determined and initiate appropriate criminal, civil, or administrative actions to resolve fraud allegations and recover program funds.
Develops recommendations to address fraud vulnerability relating to program laws, regulations, policies or procedures.

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Preferred: Possession of a bachelor's degree in business administration, criminal justice, criminology, law enforcement, police administration, security and loss prevention, or a related field.
Experience
Regulation Agent 12 - Three years of professional experience providing regulation and investigative services equivalent to a Regulation Agent, including one year equivalent to a Regulation Agent P11.
Alternative Education and Experience
Regulation Agent 9 - 12
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
OR
Two years of experience as an investigator or detective in a law enforcement, US Armed Services, or private agency conducting criminal investigations or corporate investigations including fraud, embezzlement, and security threats may be substituted for the education and experience required at the entry level; three years of such experience may be substituted at the intermediate level; four years of such experience may be substituted at the experienced level, and five years of such experience may be substituted at the advanced level.

Position Location/Remote Office: The physical location of this position is in Oakland County. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
- Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
- A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
- A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
- Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities. As a Condition of Employment: this position requires successful completion of a background investigation and a criminal records check. Due to the nature of this position, an additional extensive background check will be conducted on candidates being considered for the vacancy.
