Remote Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

This role is critical for leading the design and development of complex mechanical systems and components for advanced products. You will be responsible for conceptualizing designs, creating detailed CAD models and drawings, performing simulations and analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring designs from concept to production. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components from concept through production. Create detailed 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using advanced software. Perform engineering analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to validate designs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure integrated product development. Specify materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances for mechanical components. Troubleshoot design issues and implement effective solutions. Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices. Develop and maintain design documentation, including design specifications and test procedures. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in mechanical design. Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure design integrity and performance.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; PhD is a plus. Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and engineering. Extensive experience with industry-leading CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo). Proficiency in performing mechanical simulations and analyses (FEA, CFD). Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and product development lifecycles. Proven leadership experience in managing engineering projects and teams. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration in a remote setting. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) principles.
