About the Client
We’re helping an Australian mortgage brokerage find a Mortgage Operations Lead (AU) to take ownership of the end-to-end mortgage and lending process within a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment.
The company works closely with first-home buyers, property investors, and refinancing clients, providing tailored lending solutions across a broad lender network. Their approach emphasizes strong communication, operational efficiency, and proactive deal management from application through settlement.
This role will act as the operational backbone between incoming deals, lenders, brokers, clients, and internal support staff.
The Role
This is a senior operational and credit-focused role responsible for:
Evaluating lending scenarios
Managing lender relationships
Driving applications through the pipeline
Ensuring no opportunities or client matters lose momentum
This is not an administrative support role. We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, pushes deals forward proactively, and can independently manage complex mortgage scenarios from assessment through settlement.
Commitment: Full-Time
Location: Fully Remote (PH-based candidates preferred)
Working Hours: AEST business hours
Engagement: Independent Contractor
Start Date: ASAP
Monthly Rate: USD $1,800–2,400/month (depending on level of experience)
What You’ll Do
Credit Analysis & Deal Assessment
Assess and evaluate residential and/or commercial lending scenarios
Analyze:Borrower financials
Serviceability
Creditworthiness
Loan structures
Risk factors
Determine whether deals are viable and worth pursuing
Identify strengths, weaknesses, and lender fit for each application
Recommend optimal deal structures and lender approaches
Escalate risks and concerns early and clearly
End-to-End Deal Management
Take ownership of the mortgage process from enquiry through settlement
Manage and prioritize active deals across the pipeline
Ensure applications continue progressing without delays or loss of momentum
Follow up proactively with:Clients
Brokers
Lenders
Banks
Internal support staff
Ensure all documentation, lender conditions, and requirements are completed accurately and on time
Maintain oversight across multiple active files simultaneously
Pipeline & Operations Management
Monitor pipeline stages and deal movement daily
Prioritize urgent or incomplete files appropriately
Ensure no deals fall through the cracks
Identify bottlenecks early and proactively resolve them
Maintain accurate status updates and operational visibility
Manage workload effectively under pressure and deadlines
Client & Lender Communication
Communicate professionally with:Clients
Lenders
Brokers
Partners
Build strong lender relationships and follow through persistently where required
Keep all stakeholders informed throughout the process
Represent the business professionally in all communication
Leadership & Team Coordination
Train, mentor, and oversee administrative support staff
Delegate operational and administrative tasks effectively
Review work quality and maintain operational standards
Support improvements to SOPs, workflows, and operational consistency
Contribute to scaling the operations function over time
What We’re Looking For

7+ years of experience in:Mortgage broking
Credit analysis
Lending operations
Loan processing
Mortgage settlements
Strong understanding of:Australian lending landscape
Credit assessment
Serviceability calculations
Lender policies
Complex lending scenarios
Experience handling:Complex deals
Self-employed borrowers
Non-standard lending scenarios
Time-sensitive applications
Strong experience managing the full mortgage lifecycle
Proven ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously
Experience communicating directly with lenders and financial institutions
Strong organizational and pipeline management skills
High attention to detail and operational accuracy
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Technical & Systems Experience
Comfortable using:Infynity CRM
Loan aggregators such as Finsure
Trello
Microsoft Teams
WhatsApp
Loan processing and document management systems
AI and productivity tools
