The Role:
We are looking for an exceptional CFO to join our team. This is a partner-track position for a finance professional who wants to build a portfolio of consumer brands they can genuinely impact.
You will own a portfolio of top-tier consumer and retail brand clients and act as their fractional CFO and strategic partner. You will be embedded, trusted, and operating with the depth and strategic range that founders at this stage need most. The brands you work with will rely on you across the full spectrum: getting their financial infrastructure right, leading their fundraise, and helping them make the decisions that define the trajectory of their business.
You will also be a core builder of E+O itself - contributing to how we evolve the product, how we go to market, and how we continue to set the standard for what a strategic finance & CFO firm can deliver. You will be backed by a team of financial data analysts and engineers purpose-built to support CFO delivery - so your time goes to the work that matters most.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Portfolio Ownership:
- Own the CFO relationship for a portfolio of consumer and retail brands
- Leverage E+O's proprietary platform to advise and deliver real-time intelligence to founders and their teams by giving them clarity on their business they have never had before
- Develop financial models that become the strategic backbone of each business
- Support founders on executing successful fundraising processes: investor narrative, financial diligence, investor engagement
- Advise founders on the decisions that define their trajectory - channel expansion, capital allocation, pricing, unit economic optimization, hiring
- Represent clients, and E+O, when necessary at board meetings or in investor conversations as a prepared, authoritative, and trusted voice
- Internal: Building E+O:
- Contribute to the evolution of E+O's CFO product - what we deliver, how we deliver it, and how our technology continues to raise the bar for clients
- Build the financial infrastructure each brand needs to operate and scale: each of our clients has a custom-built dashboard with a Live P&L, unit economics & KPI insights, inventory and demand planning, and cash flow management. This is built in partnership with our data analysts and engineering teams to CFO-grade levels, not basic software standards.
- Partner with the product and engineering team to translate CFO workflows into platform capabilities that scale across our client base
- Support go-to-market efforts and contribute to E+O's thought leadership and presence in the Consumer and VC ecosystem
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor team members as the firm scales
- Participate in E+O Capital deal flow and the buildout of this recently launched fund
About You:
- We are looking for people who demonstrate the following qualities:
- 6–10 years of experience across a combination of investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or strategic finance at a high-growth consumer or retail company - you have been in the room when the decisions mattered
- Deep fluency in the consumer and retail business model - DTC unit economics, retail strategy, inventory dynamics, channel margins, and the full arc from early stage through to exit
- Investment banking-caliber financial modeling - rigorous, intuitive models and financial tooling that founders actually rely on
- Ability to turn fragmented, multi-source data into a clear strategic narrative - you see the story in the numbers before anyone else does and the experience-backed conviction to forecast with confidence when data is incomplete
- Exceptional communication and client presence - you can run a board meeting as confidently as you build a model, and you distill complexity into clarity without dumbing it down
- Genuine fundraising depth - you have supported or led capital raises and understand how to position a business, manage investor relationships, and maximize the probability of a successful outcome
- Entrepreneurial mindset and high personal standards - you want ownership, not just a role, and you hold yourself to a standard that does not require external enforcement
- Deep passion for consumer brands and the founders building them - this is not just a vertical to you, it is a world you want to live and build in
