Overview

We are seeking advanced degree holders with medical writing or peer-reviewed publication experience to support four independent, high-priority projects. Each role requires immediate availability, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to deliver precise, accurate, and fully referenced scientific summaries or annotation sets under tight timelines.

Critical requirement: Only applicants with immediate capacity and demonstrated ability to deliver high precision, high accuracy, and high efficiency will be considered.

Long-term opportunity: Long-term work is available for those with strong performance. I look forward to building relationships and partnerships long-term upon successful completion of these initial tasks.

Open Positions (4 projects, 6 hires total)

  • Project 1: Bone cancer scientific statements – 2 hires

Task: Literature review, references, and annotations

  • Project 2: Three dermatological diseases – 2 hires

Task: Literature review, references, and annotations

  • Project 3: Urology treatment – 1 hire

Task: Summarization of scientific articles

  • Project 4: Ophthalmology medical device – 1 hire

Task: Summarization of scientific articles

Key Responsibilities (by project type)

For Projects 1 & 2 (Reference & Annotation):

  • Conduct targeted literature searches based on provided scientific statements
  • Identify relevant peer-reviewed sources
  • Provide complete, accurate references (AMA or journal-specific style)
  • Write concise, objective annotations explaining how each source supports the statement
  • Highlight the supporting text within source documents using Adobe (applicant must have access to Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader)

For Projects 3 & 4 (Summarization):

  • Read and extract key data, conclusions, and limitations from assigned scientific articles
  • Write clinical-toned, clinician-facing, scientific-toned summaries
  • Ensure no critical clinical or safety information is omitted

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or Master's in life sciences/medical field)
  • Prior publication experience (author, medical writer, or peer reviewer) or other professional medical writing experience
  • Proven ability to work with high precision (factual correctness, citation integrity)
  • Proven accuracy (no misstatements of results or conclusions)
  • Proven efficiency (quick turnaround without quality loss)
  • Access to Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader (for Projects 1 & 2)

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with bone cancer, dermatology, urology, or ophthalmology literature
  • Experience with systematic literature reviews or evidence synthesis
  • Proficiency in reference management tools (e.g., EndNote, Zotero, Mendeley)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
