Contract Grant Writer / Funding Strategy Consultant

ASHER 360 is seeking a Texas-based grant writer or grant consultant to support nonprofit funding strategy, grant research, and grant application development.

ASHER 360 is a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on school safety, operational readiness, veteran placement, and community-based preparedness initiatives. Our work supports schools, communities, veterans, and public safety partners through training, planning, doctrine development, and readiness-based programming.

We are looking for someone who can help us identify aligned funding opportunities, review eligibility, organize grant priorities, and support the development of strong applications for foundation, corporate, state, and federal funding opportunities.

    Scope of work may include:
  • Researching aligned grant opportunities
  • Building or refining a grant calendar
  • Reviewing eligibility requirements
  • Helping prioritize best-fit funding opportunities
  • Writing or editing grant narratives
  • Supporting budgets, attachments, and required documentation
  • Advising on funder alignment and application strategy
  • Helping prepare repeatable language and templates for future applications
    Preferred experience:
  • Nonprofit grant writing
  • DOJ grant writing, including COPS Office grant programs
  • Education, school safety, youth programs, or public safety funding
  • Veterans programs or workforce development funding
  • Emergency preparedness, community safety, or prevention-based funding
  • Foundation, corporate, state, or federal grant applications
  • Budget narratives, logic models, program descriptions, and measurable outcomes
  • Working with early-stage or growing nonprofit organizations
    Ideal candidate:
  • Understands nonprofit grant ethics and funder expectations
  • Can help identify realistic opportunities, not just write applications
  • Is comfortable working with a developing program model
  • Can help organize grant materials into a reusable funding pipeline
  • Communicates clearly about timelines, requirements, and needed documents
  • Has experience translating complex program ideas into funder-ready language

Location:

Texas-based preferred. Central Texas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Waco, Temple, Killeen, Bell County, Williamson County, or DFW experience is especially helpful, but remote Texas-based consultants are welcome to apply.

To apply:

Please send a brief introduction, relevant grant writing experience, areas of funding expertise, preferred fee structure, availability, and examples of past grant work or awarded grant types if available.
