Position: Part-Time Respiratory Care Lecturer (Evenings/Online)
Lecturer, CC (Respiratory Care) – Part‑time temporary position at Kapi'olani Community College – Health Sciences, Honolulu, HI.
- Job Number: . Salary:Minimum $2,053 per credit hour, subject to lecturer placement.Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach courses in the assigned subject area.
- Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
- Assess student learning in terms of course competencies and program learning outcomes.
- Submit self‑assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations.
- Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
- Maintain one office hour per week for each class taught (20 minutes per credit per week).
- Classes may be offered online, evenings and/or weekends. Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Health or Health‑related field AND current Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy AND 3 years of related work experience AND current Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- or Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy and a Baccalaureate degree in any field AND 5 years of related work experience AND current Registered Respiratory Therapist. Desirable Qualifications
- Work experience related to courses to be taught.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively.
- Familiarity with competency‑ and outcomes‑based instruction.
- Currently a registered respiratory therapist at Queen’s, Straub, and Pali Momi hospitals in Honolulu for clinical practice courses. EEO, Clery Act, ADA
