Job description: Registered Nurse – Emergency Department – 36 Hours/Week – Midnight ShiftEligible for full-time benefitsShift: 7:00PM to 7:30AM$5,000 Sign On BonusGENERAL SUMMARYUnit Description: The 361-bed Henry Ford Macomb Hospital is a Level 2 trauma center, providing advanced emergency services to more than 56,000 adult and pediatric patients annually. Henry Ford Macomb is a Top 100 Heart Hospital with a 24/7 Cardiac Cath Lab and Primary Stroke Center. In addition, we are leaders in sepsis management. The hospital has consistently earned Top Hospital and an A grade for patient safety performance from The Leapfrog Group. We serve the needs of a diverse, high acuity patient population. 34% of ED patients seen are admitted, 72% of all hospital patients are admitted through the Emergency Department, Patient mix: 2% critically ill, 29% emergent care, 9% pediatrics, and 60% all others. This department consists of 17 senior staff physicians and 23 Emergency residents. There are more than 175 RNs and support personnel employed full-time by the department.· Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.· Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.· Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.· Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.This posting represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and duties.
