- Responsibilities
- Ensure all pre-service accounts are financially cleared prior to the date of service. ,
- Obtain and verify accurate insurance information and benefit validation. ,
- Authorize and manage preservice collections for various visit types. ,
- Collect and document all required demographic and financial information. ,
- Activate registration and discharge processes in a timely manner. ,
- Analyze patient insurance to identify the correct insurance plan and document accordingly. ,
- Verify patient information with third-party payers and collect insurance referrals. ,
- Communicate with patients and physician offices regarding authorization and referral requirements. ,
- Identify potential needs for financial responsibility forms and escalate accounts as necessary.
- Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent. ,
- 3 to 5 years of financial clearance experience in an acute care setting. ,
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial clearance and insurance verification processes. ,
- Proficiency in Patient Registration/Patient Accounting systems and related software. ,
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office business software.
- Nice-to-haves
- NAHAM CHAA or AAHAM CRCS certification, strongly preferred. ,
- NAHAM CHAM or AAHAM CRCP certification preferred.
