About the position
The Patient Scheduler II position at Essentia Health involves pre-registering and scheduling patients for various healthcare services in a professional and courteous manner. This hybrid role requires working in the office for the first three months before transitioning to a remote option. The scheduler will handle incoming calls, manage follow-up and referral work queues, and ensure efficient communication with patient care teams to facilitate optimal patient care.
- Responsibilities
- Pre-registers and schedules patients for appointments, procedures, tests, and other services. ,
- Handles incoming calls and manages follow-up and referral work queues. ,
- Completes patient checkout and schedules follow-up appointments as per physician's orders. ,
- Provides patients with cost estimates and itineraries for upcoming appointments. ,
- Coordinates scheduling of services for patients, including ancillary and procedure scheduling. ,
- Enters data accurately into the electronic health record while communicating with patients. ,
- Supports Population Management and Chronic Disease Management initiatives through patient registry and outbound calling. ,
- Performs other clerical duties as assigned.
- Requirements
- 1 year of clinical healthcare experience or experience as a Patient Scheduler I. ,
- Completion of Healthcare Business Insight's Patient Access Certification Program within six months of hire date.
