About the position
- Responsibilities
- Teach assigned contact hours per semester.
- Adequately prepare for lessons based on instructor experience.
- Provide clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines through written outlines and approved syllabus.
- Create interesting and relevant assignments that demonstrate learning outcomes.
- Engage, support, and communicate with students to encourage participation and learning.
- Provide timely grades and feedback to students through college software.
- Respond to student questions in a timely manner.
- Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.
- Demonstrate quality online classroom management techniques.
- Provide quality assessment of student work with substantive feedback.
- Incorporate faith-based discussions in class forums.
- Participate in online faculty development opportunities.
- Communicate in a timely manner with students and ODP staff regarding concerns.
- Proactively participate with students in the online classroom.
- Requirements
- Must have a conferred master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field.
- Prior teaching experience, especially with online populations, is strongly desired.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet usage.
- Must have a computer and reliable high-speed internet access.
- Nice-to-haves
- A terminal degree related to Psychology, Social Work, or Child Development is preferred.
- Prior online teaching experience.
- Experience working with non-traditional learners.
- Proficiency using a Learning Management System, preferably Moodle.
- Curriculum development experience or knowledge of best practices in online curriculum design.
