About the position
- Responsibilities
- Teach graduate course sections (on campus and online) in various educational areas.
- Participate in an Adjunct/Full Time Instructors' Learning Community.
- Supervise candidates during clinical practice, if assigned.
- Support program advisement for candidates.
- Uphold the missions and values of Touro College and the Graduate School of Education.
- Requirements
- Masters Degree required, earned doctorate preferred, in Curriculum, Instruction, Special Education, or related field.
- Current certification in Special Education.
- Successful classroom teaching experience, grades 7 - 12, of diverse students.
- Successful graduate-level teaching experience, face-to-face and/or online.
- Successful leadership experience.
- Experience in course and program design.
- Successful experience supervising degree candidates in clinical field placements, if assigned for clinical supervision.
- Commitment to culturally relevant and sustaining pedagogy.
- Knowledge of NYSED teacher certification examinations.
- Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
- Proficiency in online learning platforms including Canvas and Zoom.
