Long-Term Substitute Core Music Teacher Opportunity

As a long-term substitute core music teacher, you will play a vital role in developing students' understanding and appreciation of music, identifying and promoting their talents, and creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach core music to students at Glenville Elementary School
- Develop and implement a balanced music program that meets the needs of all students
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student musical learning and progress
- Modify instructional methods to fit individual student needs, including students with special needs
- Plan, coordinate, and direct students in musical programs and performances
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Requirements:
- CT State Certification in Music, Grades PreK-12 (#049) required
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy
- Ability to play an instrument or instruments and conduct students in playing instruments as needed
- Ability to instruct students in singing, harmonization, and chorus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
