We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Director of Exhibitions and Programs to join our team at the David C. Driskell Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in managing, planning, and coordinating activities across our library, gallery, and archives. Job Summary:


The Assistant Director of Exhibitions and Programs will act as a direct assistant to the Director, providing administrative and communications support at a senior level. You will be responsible for managing the center's schedule of exhibitions and events, coordinating education programming, and marketing to both on-campus and external audiences. Additionally, you will lead the development program, including grant writing and donor relationship management.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage the center's schedule of exhibitions and events

  • Coordinate education programming and marketing efforts

  • Lead the development program, including grant writing and donor relationship management

  • Provide administrative and communications support to the Director

  • Handle sensitive and complex issues in a professional and objective manner


Requirements:



  • B.A. in Art History, Museum Studies, Non-profit Management, or related fields

  • Minimum 5 years of full-time experience working in a museum or art gallery

  • Knowledge of collections management databases, cloud-based work management software, and Microsoft Suite

  • Demonstrated experience with grant writing, exhibition management, and budgeting

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a close, collaborative environment


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's in Art History, Museum Studies, or related fields

  • Knowledge of artwork and items in the Museum's care, as well as museum theory and practices
