Role Description

We're Hiring: Billing Specialist | Healthcare | Full-Time | Remote (CA-Based Company PST Work Hours Required)

Are you a sharp, analytical thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Are you the type who enjoys solving problems and navigating complex billing and claims scenarios? If so, SleepQuest is looking for YOU to join our team as a Billing Specialist!

What You’ll Bring to the Table:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – You’re quick on your feet, can think through issues with clarity, and take ownership from start to finish.
• Brightree experience – If you’ve worked in Brightree before, we’re extra excited to meet you!
• Expertise in billing, claims & appeals – This is your wheelhouse. You know what clean claims look like and you don’t let denials go unresolved.
• 3+ years of medical billing experience OR equivalent experience and education in healthcare billing (Sleep or DME experience is a big plus).
• 1+ years of accounting experience – You understand how billing ties into the bigger financial picture.

What You’ll Do:
• Process, submit, and follow up on insurance claims with accuracy and timeliness.
• Troubleshoot billing issues and escalate appeals when necessary.
• Analyze claim statuses and follow up on denials and outstanding A/R.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the right documents and authorizations are in place.
• Provide billing support to patients and partners in a professional, responsive way.

Tools of the Trade:
• Brightree Billing (highly preferred)
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Electronic claim appeals tools
• Communication platforms (Teams, etc.)

Qualifications
• 3+ years of medical billing experience OR equivalent experience and education in healthcare billing
• 1+ years of accounting experience

Benefits
• Full Time, Pay Range: $23-$28 (depending on experience)
• Must work PST hours 8:30am - 5:00pm Mondays - Fridays
