About the position
- Responsibilities
- Implements a file management structure to facilitate access to faculty development materials.
- Manages a faculty development calendar, including appointments, travel plans, meetings, and conferences.
- Coordinates financial transactions, including entering requisitions and expenses, processing expense reports, paying invoices, procuring supplies, and transferring funds in accordance with department policy and procedure.
- Oversees the production and publication of both print and computer-based faculty development materials; edits and formats materials to conform with standards and templates.
- Maintains faculty development databases and systems to track and monitor faculty development needs and activities for use in program evaluation and accreditation.
- Prepares and processes documentation and applications for Continued Medical Education (CME) credits.
- Supports the program with the design and implementation of faculty development workshops and online offerings.
- Contributes to the development of faculty engagement programs with attention to equity, inclusion and diversity and to community engagement.
- Contributes to the development of faculty recognition initiatives.
- Collaborates as appropriate on efforts coordinated through the Office of Faculty Affairs and Office of Medical Education, such as faculty orientation and onboarding and learning environment training.
- Supports the creation and implementation of faculty development resources and initiatives.
- Supports the creation of a variety of resources on teaching, learning, research and creative practice, and leadership development.
- Supports the creation, dissemination, and publishing of the schools communications for the Office of Faculty Affairs or Office of Medical Education.
- Prepares and promotes services and resources for new faculty.
- Supports the Office of Faculty Affairs and Office of Medical Educations leaders and management team to represent the school at appropriate venues outside the campus.
- Fosters and maintains open and ongoing communication with all stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and leaders.
- Manages planning and arrangements for internal meetings including space reservations, communication, refreshments, and technology; may produce meeting minutes.
- Reserves space for faculty development sessions, procures resources for the delivery of the curriculum, and prepares materials and technology for faculty development sessions.
- May handle logistics for planning faculty orientation and other faculty development events including managing presenter timelines and deliverables; creating/editing PowerPoint presentations; designing invitations and managing invitation lists, distribution, and response; liaising with IT to secure A/V support.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Requirements
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in project coordination and management.
- Bachelor's degree or four (4) years of experience in a related field.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Knowledge of higher education organizational structures, preferably in health sciences education.
- Organized self-starter, with strong time management skills; detail-oriented.
- Service-oriented in support of faculty, staff, and students.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Understanding of effective communication strategies.
- Good attention to details.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in the use of technology including Microsoft Office products, learning/content management systems, and web conferencing tools; aptitude for learning new software.
