Social Worker- Child Protection Investigative Assessment
About the position
- Responsibilities
- Assess/investigate reports of child physical and sexual abuse and neglect
- Conduct child forensic interviews using approved protocols
- Collaborate with various professions/agencies during assessments
- Effectively engage individuals and families to assess needs and strengths
- Coordinate and provide services and advocacy to clients and families
- Facilitate access to community resources on behalf of the client
- Apply knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and statutes
- Complete required documentation according to mandated timelines
- Work flexible schedule in response to emergency case assignments
- Present to the public about child protection statutes and practices
- Testify in court and prepare court documents
- Assess requests for child welfare matters and assist in obtaining services
- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related Human Services field
- One year full-time professional experience in a social services agency OR Two years full-time para-professional experience in a social services agency
- Valid Driver's License
- Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field
- Forensic interviewing or experience in a child protection agency
