Customer Service Advocate (UHC West) - San Antonio, TX
About the position
- Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve customer service inquiries and issues on the first call by identifying the topic and type of assistance needed.
- Guide and educate customers about consumer-driven health care topics to help them select the best benefit plan options.
- Initiate proactive outreach to members, including welcoming new members and addressing gaps in care.
- Contact care providers on behalf of customers to assist with appointment scheduling or connections with specialists.
- Assist customers in navigating myuhc.com and other UnitedHealth Group websites.
- Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 1+ years of customer service experience.
- Ability to work the hours of 11:35 am - 8:05 pm CST from Monday - Friday, including occasional overtime.
- Nice-to-haves
- Sales or account management experience.
- Experience in a health care or insurance environment, including familiarity with medical terminology and health plan documents.
- Background in social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, or health promotion.
