Our flagship game, Hegemony: Lead Your Class to Victory, is a multi-award-winning asymmetric political board game currently ranked in the Top 50 games of all time on BoardGameGeek. It won three Golden Geek Awards in 2023, including Heavy Game of the Year, Most Innovative, and Most Thematic, and is actively used in university courses across Political Science, Economics, and Sociology worldwide. Our second title, World Order, simulates great-power competition in international relations and was developed in collaboration with academics from King’s College London, Oxford, the University of Oklahoma, SOAS, and George Mason University. Role Description: Collaborate with the development team to integrate academic theories into the game’s design, ensuring a compelling and educational experience. Work closely with the team to address questions, provide clarifications, and offer guidance throughout the development process. Contribute to the writing of the Academic Concepts Booklet that will be released with the game, detailing the relevant theories, concepts, and principles of Political Science and Political Theory. Your name will appear as a credited author on your contributed sections. Upon completion of the project, you will be asked to write a review of the game when it is ready, with the review emphasising on the academic and pedagogical impact. Role Requirements: PhD in Political Science, Political Theory, or Comparative Politics. Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: democratic theory and authoritarianism; civil liberties and the politics of law enforcement; environmental politics and political economy; electoral theory and political communication. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the development team and provide clear, constructive feedback. Experience or demonstrated interest in merging academic concepts with game mechanics is a plus. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines within a collaborative and dynamic environment.
