About the position

    Responsibilities
  • Prepare and coordinate architectural drawings, renderings, specifications, and design assignments under general supervision.
  • Create graphics and renderings, developing planning and design concepts.
  • Produce accurate documents that align with SmithGroup standards for project assignments.
  • Support senior planners and architects on large projects.
  • Detail internal and external features of buildings.
  • Research complex details using knowledge of basic drawing details.
  • Consult with manufacturers and propose materials and products.
  • Assist in construction administration, including responding to RFIs, preparing sketches and addenda, visiting construction sites, and reviewing submittals.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes, zoning ordinances, and other external issues to building design concepts.
  • Manage aspects of a project and provide status reports to project leadership.
  • Determine the level of effort required for assignments and provide input on scheduling.
  • Create graphics for marketing proposals, materials, and presentations.
    Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or a closely related field (foreign equivalent degrees accepted).
  • 2 years of experience in architectural design assignments.
