Associate Fashion & Social Editor, Who What Wear
About the position
- Responsibilities
- Report to the Senior Fashion and Social Editor, Who What Wear
- Create and film front-of-camera videos for Who What Wear's social channels, some of which will tie back to on-site editorial stories
- Partner with the senior editor to help create short-form videos from industry events, press days, store openings, and designer studio visits
- Assist the senior fashion and social editor in editing social content clips for higher concept videos, including image sourcing and script research
- Help create cross-channel promotion plans for a single piece of social content
- Build a reputation and online presence as someone who is Who What Wear
- Fulfill on-site story and social outputs each week and respond to social content trends, changing commission rates, story performance data, and pacing toward goals
- Capture content IRL for social (press events, red carpets, NYFW, shoots)
- Pitch and write daily fashion content for WhoWhatWear, spanning trend reports, shopping round-ups from our top-performing retailers, styling guides, and SEO content
- Track analytics on story KPIs to ensure personal audience and affiliate goals are met
- Work with social to create more edit and social cooperation while optimizing story performance including sharing of social analytics
- Grow Who What Wear's Gen Z audience by ideating new social franchises, creating viral videos, and increasing overall brand awareness and engagement online
- Build relationships with PR, brands, and industry experts to obtain exclusive insights, quotes, and embargoed news and access to high-priority brand events
- Keep a finger on the pulse of industry happenings, such as rising trends, new arrivals, and pop-culture moments that could translate well to site and social
- Requirements
- 3+ years of experience writing fashion content for a digital publication
- 2+ years of experience creating social content for a digital brand and publication
- Excellent verbal and writing skills and visual sensibilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of the fashion space
- Personal online presence and portfolio of high-performing content
- Bring a creative approach to traditionally top-performing story categories
- Desire to make decisions informed by data and performance
- Success at collaborating with multiple teams across business categories
- Comfortable using social editing tools like Canva and Capcut
- General working knowledge of affiliate marketing, HTML, CMS, and SEO tools
- Benefits
- Expected salary range of $57,000 - $75,000
- Hybrid role from New York Office, working three days from the office, two from home
