Job Duties:
The Center for Innovative Transition, Education & Employment (CITEE) strives to create a future where every individual can live a fulfilling, independent, and dignified life. CITEE is housed in the College of Community Engagement and Professions at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee which is comprised of the School of Education, Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, and School of Information Studies. Together, they develop informed, engaged and empathetic professionals who graduate fully prepared for an array of in-demand careers.

This position is responsible for scheduling and completing WIOA Career Interviews and for all related reporting and documentation. This position has primary responsibility for interviews assigned around the state. All interviews take place virtually. Provide customer service and outreach with guardians of subminimum wage employees for the Center for Innovative Transition, Education and Employee (CITEE) team under the supervision and leadership of the CITEE Director and directly to the CITEE Program Manager. Coordinate disability accommodation as needed for interviews. This position will perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with grant requirements and all University, state and federal policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Provide career counseling, information and resources, and referrals with subminimum wage employees during virtual interviews across Wisconsin

Schedule interviews, manage interview logistics, and complete interview preparations and all necessary documentation and reports in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner

Communicate with subminimum wage employees, guardians and family members, vocational providers, and other stakeholders as applicable, to ensure consistency and coordination of service delivery

Manage logistics for all assigned WIOA career interviews, including coordinating accommodations as needed and communicating with 14c employers

Comply with all University, partner agencies, state and federal regulations and confidentiality and compliance requirements, and uphold the ethics of their respective discipline

Participate actively in required team and project meetings via remote technology and in person when required

Key Job Responsibilities:
Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement
May assist with the monitoring of outreach program budget spending
Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members
Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program

Target Salary: $65,000 Annual basis, prorated for percentage of appointment

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience working in human services, education or related field with persons with disabilities

Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, School Counseling, Social Work or other related behavioral health fields

Current State of Wisconsin LPC, LCSW, LP

Current Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with people with disabilities required, preferably people with developmental, intellectual, severe or complex disabilities

Experience in career and disability counseling and direct service delivery with people with disabilities, including intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably with adults, and their families

Excellent interpersonal, written, virtual, and verbal communication skills with diverse populations, including those with varying communication styles and abilities

Other knowledge, skills and abilities to be evaluated in interviews with applicants who meet above:

Ability to maintain collaborative communication during all work activities

Knowledge of subminimum wage employment and competitive, integrated employment

Knowledge of employment services, vocational rehabilitation, career counseling, transitional services, or other disability related services and work

Demonstrated adaptability and problem-solving ability

Ability to manage time, multiple priorities, and deadlines effectively

Ability to create and write reports that are substantiated

Ability to work with and contribute to a dynamic team while also being able to work independently

Ability to travel to in-person events as required for CITEE

Ability to set up a remote office with a reliable high-speed Wi-Fi connection or hotspot

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, scanners, and other software and equipment required for interviews
