About the position
- Responsibilities
- Advise Student Government and Student Organizations, serving as the primary advisor for ASUW and GPSS officers.
- Assist students with planning, budgeting, promotions, execution, management, and assessment of RSO-hosted events.
- Monitor and advise student government program directors and RSOs regarding day-to-day operations.
- Serve as a primary liaison between RSOs/ASUW/GPSS entities and campus staff, departments, and vendors.
- Advocate for RSOs and student government across campus.
- Monitor budgets and expenditures for assigned groups.
- Maintain and update historical records and files related to assigned committees and programs.
- Advise Assistant Director on emerging and ongoing issues among student organizations.
- Prepare reports and statistical data.
- Monitor compliance with University and state policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field.
- 1 year of related experience in Higher Education, College Unions/Student Activities, or Non-profit Management.
- Experience working with student organizations or advising students.
- Interpersonal, problem solving, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Nice-to-haves
- 1+ years' related experience in Higher Education, College Unions/Student Activities, or Non-profit Management.
- Experience with event planning and management.
- Experience working directly with student leaders and/or student government.
