Data Scientist (Data and Analytics Manager)
About the position
- Responsibilities
- Serve as a data scientist for records, information, and data management.
- Provide administrative and technical oversight.
- Analyze current and future programmatic trends, changes, and relationships, and recommend actions.
- Develop pilots and prototypes to address mission data needs.
- Serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
- Spend less than 25% of work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
- Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a related field.
- 1 year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level, including designing, developing, and maintaining databases.
- Experience using information systems and software applications to analyze and manage data sets.
- Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, analyze, and resolve problems.
- Knowledge of contract administration and post-award procedures.
- Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools.
- Knowledge of machine learning, predictive analysis, prescriptive analysis, and optimization.
- Skill in technical and analytical writing.
- Knowledge of standards and requirements for competition to prepare statements of work and justifications.
- Ability to administer post-award procedures and advise Contractor Officer on performance.
- Skill in oral communication.
