Role Summary

The Neurocritical Care Foundation (NCCF) is seeking a seasoned professional to lead development and fundraising efforts in a part-time position. In this role, the Development Director will implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy based on the strategic plan. The Development Director will also create, implement, and oversee the relationship building plan for individual and corporate giving, including prospecting, cultivation, stewardship, solicitation, appreciation, and recognition.

Key Focus Areas and Activities

Working with the NCCF Executive Director and the Boards of Trustees, the Development Director will:

· Create a fundraising plan with a focus on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan and annual budget

· Identify, cultivate and steward, corporate, foundation, and individual donors with the capacity to provide a major gift;

· Coordinate and align with appropriate staff from the Neurocritical Care Foundation (NCCF) and the Neurocritical Care Society (NCS)

Responsibilities

· Execute an annual, comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes specific fundraising goals and targets in coordination with the annual NCCF budget

· Monitor, evaluate, and report on a regular basis on pipeline of industry prospects

· Develop an approach to individual giving, wealthy donors, foundations, neurocritical care related industry partners, non-neurocritical care related corporations, and others;

· Report on progress of annual fundraising strategy, goals and targets to NCCF Executive Director and Board of Trustees;

· Engage NCCF leadership and NCCF Philanthropy Committee as needed to accomplish fundraising strategy;

· Research potential donors and leverage NCCF leadership relationship

· Communicate regularly with NCCF Executive Director, staff team, and Board of Trustees as appropriate

· Ensure grant fulfillment expectations are appropriate, and work with NCCF staff to monitor and track execution on all donor fulfillment;

· Write and submit grant applications and fundraising proposals;

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

· At least five years of non-profit fundraising experience, preferably in the health care sector.

· Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, public relations, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

· Proficiency in developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual donations.

· Experience in cultivating and stewarding relationships with donors, and funding organizations to ensure ongoing support and engagement.

· Ability to research, write, and manage grant proposals, including understanding grant requirements, deadlines, and reporting procedures.

· Understanding of nonprofit financial management principles, including budgeting, financial reporting, and fiscal responsibility.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to contribute to the development of long-term fundraising goals and strategic plans aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.

· Experience in leading and motivating fundraising teams, as well as collaborating with other departments to integrate fundraising efforts with programmatic activities.

· Understanding of legal and ethical guidelines governing fundraising practices, including donor privacy, gift acceptance policies, and regulatory compliance.

· Capability to track and evaluate fundraising performance, generate progress reports, and provide insights for continuous improvement and decision-making.

· Awareness of emerging trends and best practices in fundraising, as well as adaptability to evolving donor preferences, technological advancements, and market dynamics.
